Airport cab pickup guide: where your cab meets you

The question at the baggage belt is never the fare. It is which terminal you are standing in, which door to walk out of, and how the driver will find you. Here it is for the 15 southern airports we serve, from the two-terminal ones where the answer matters to the one-door towns where it does not.

How a pickup works

  1. 1.You book with the flight number. The driver tracks the flight, so a delay moves the pickup and an early landing brings it forward.
  2. 2.Before you land you have the driver's name, photo, phone and the car registration.
  3. 3.When you are down, a message names the bay or kerb. Walk out of arrivals; the car is there or a minute away.
  4. 4.The airport's own entry and pickup-zone charge is a separate line on the fare, at cost, shown before you booked.

Airport by airport

Kempegowda International AirportBangalore, Karnataka

Terminals

Two terminals, T1 and T2, a short distance apart with a free shuttle between them. Airlines have moved between the two more than once, so trust the terminal printed on your boarding pass, not memory.

Where the cab meets you

App-booked cabs collect from the designated pickup zone at each terminal, signposted from arrivals. The driver messages the exact bay once you land. From the belt to the car is usually ten minutes at T1 and a little more at T2.

The airport road out has its own plaza; it is in the fare as a separate line.

Fares from Bangalore airport →

Chennai International AirportChennai, Tamil Nadu

Terminals

Domestic and international terminals sit side by side on one campus, joined by walkways, with the new integrated terminal handling most flights. You can walk between them.

Where the cab meets you

Cabs pick up from the arrivals kerb outside your terminal. Tell the driver domestic or international and the door number on the signage above you; that is enough.

Fares from Chennai airport →

Rajiv Gandhi International AirportHyderabad, Telangana

Terminals

One integrated terminal for every flight, domestic and international, so there is nothing to choose.

Where the cab meets you

Exit arrivals to the pickup lanes in front of the terminal. The car parks sit directly across; the driver tells you which lane. The city is 25 to 40 km away by the elevated expressway, and that stretch is tolled.

Fares from Hyderabad airport →

Cochin International AirportKochi, Kerala

Terminals

Terminal 1 is domestic and Terminal 3 is international; Terminal 2 handles only charter and pilgrim flights. T1 and T3 are about a kilometre apart, so say which one you are in.

Where the cab meets you

Cabs wait at the arrivals kerb of the terminal you name. International arrivals take longer to clear, and the driver waits for the flight, not the clock.

Fares from Kochi airport →

Trivandrum International AirportTrivandrum, Kerala

Terminals

Two terminals on opposite sides of the runway: T1 for domestic, T2 for international, a few kilometres apart by road. This is the one airport in the south where naming the wrong terminal costs real time.

Where the cab meets you

Give the driver the terminal and he waits outside its arrivals hall. There is no walking between them.

Fares from Trivandrum airport →

Coimbatore International AirportCoimbatore, Tamil Nadu

Terminals

One terminal, domestic and international under the same roof.

Where the cab meets you

Straight out of arrivals to the kerb. The town centre is about 12 km; Ooty, Coonoor and Tiruppur transfers start here.

Fares from Coimbatore airport →

Mangalore International AirportMangalore, Karnataka

Terminals

One terminal at Bajpe, on a hilltop above the city.

Where the cab meets you

The pickup lanes are outside arrivals. Udupi, Manipal, Kasaragod and Kannur transfers leave from here; the coast road south is quick, the ghat road to Madikeri is not.

Fares from Mangalore airport →

Madurai AirportMadurai, Tamil Nadu

Terminals

One terminal for all flights.

Where the cab meets you

Cabs collect from the arrivals kerb. Rameswaram, Kodaikanal and Kanyakumari transfers all begin here, and the driver is told your onward destination when you book.

Fares from Madurai airport →

Tiruchirappalli International AirportTrichy, Tamil Nadu

Terminals

One new integrated terminal handles both domestic and international flights.

Where the cab meets you

Out of arrivals to the kerb. Thanjavur, Kumbakonam and Srirangam pilgrims land here; the temple-town roads are good but slow through the towns.

Fares from Trichy airport →

Calicut International AirportKozhikode, Kerala

Terminals

One terminal at Karipur, with domestic and international sections in the same building.

Where the cab meets you

Cabs wait outside arrivals. Wayanad transfers climb the Thamarassery ghat, nine hairpins, about two and a half hours; allow for it if you land late.

Fares from Kozhikode airport →

Kannur International AirportKannur, Kerala

Terminals

One terminal at Mattannur, all flights.

Where the cab meets you

Straight out to the kerb. Wayanad, Thalassery and Kasaragod are the usual runs; the roads are narrow and the driver keeps to daylight timings where he can.

Fares from Kannur airport →

Tirupati AirportTirupati, Andhra Pradesh

Terminals

One terminal at Renigunta.

Where the cab meets you

Cabs collect outside arrivals. Most riders go to Tirumala or Tirupati town; the ghat road to Tirumala has its own vehicle rules, and the driver knows them.

Fares from Tirupati airport →

Vijayawada International AirportVijayawada, Andhra Pradesh

Terminals

One terminal at Gannavaram.

Where the cab meets you

Out to the arrivals kerb. Vijayawada city is about 20 km; Guntur and Amaravati transfers start here.

Fares from Vijayawada airport →

Visakhapatnam AirportVisakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh

Terminals

One civil terminal on a naval airfield, so security at the gate is stricter than most.

Where the cab meets you

Cabs wait at the arrivals kerb outside the terminal. Araku and Vizianagaram are the long runs.

Fares from Visakhapatnam airport →

Mysore AirportMysore, Karnataka

Terminals

One small terminal at Mandakalli, a few minutes from the city.

Where the cab meets you

Straight out of arrivals. Coorg, Ooty and Wayanad transfers begin here, and it is a quieter start than Bengaluru for all three.

Fares from Mysore airport →

Terminal allocations change; the boarding pass is the authority. Fares for every airport, including the smaller ones not described here, are on the airport taxi page.

Questions people ask

How does the driver know when my flight lands?+

You give the flight number when you book. The driver watches the flight, not the scheduled time, so a delay does not cost you the car and an early landing does not leave you waiting.

Where do I meet the driver?+

At the arrivals kerb or the app-cab pickup zone of your terminal. You get the driver's name, photo, number and car registration before landing, and a message with the exact bay once you are down.

What if I land at two in the morning?+

The car comes at any hour, and the fare is the same at night as by day. The driver's name and registration are with you before you leave the terminal, and the trip can be shared live with someone at home.

Is airport parking or entry included in the fare?+

It is charged by the airport and passed on at cost as a separate line on the fare, shown before you book. It is never a surprise at the car.

I have a lot of luggage. Which car?+

A sedan takes three people with two large bags comfortably. Four people or four big bags want an SUV. The car pages show seats and the boot; pick by luggage, not by headcount.

Which terminal at Bengaluru?+

The one on your boarding pass. Airlines have shifted between T1 and T2, so look rather than assume. If you do walk out of the wrong one, the free shuttle between them runs all day and the driver will move to meet you.

Book the airport pickup before you fly

Fixed fare, driver details before landing, and the car waits for the flight, not the clock.
